The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered has been released, giving numerous players the opportunity to test the new edition of the zombie game. Among other things, we were able to extensively try out the new roguelike mode “No Return”.
In a YouTube video, user ElAnalistaDeBits compared the original game on the PS4 and PS4 Pro with the remastered for PS5. In addition to the loading times, he also checked the various FPS values.
Loading times and FPS values
There are apparently big differences between the consoles when it comes to loading times. While the PS4 and PS4 Pro take around 70 seconds to load, the loading time on the PS5 is just 20 seconds. This means that the remastered version loads more than three times as quickly.
There should also be significant differences in the FPS values, which depend on which graphics mode you use. In Fidelity mode, the game achieves an almost constant frame rate of 30 FPS. In performance mode this value increases to 60 FPS.
These values apparently remain stable during different game situations. There are only minimal fluctuations in between, with the value dropping to 29 or 59 FPS.
If you own the original game, an inexpensive upgrade to your PS4 version is available. This will allow you to explore the Remastered version’s various new modes and content at a lower price.
