“The Last of Us” finally takes us to Jackson in Episode 6, where Joel and Ellie meet Joel’s brother Tommy. In the safe community, the two take a short breather and Joel begins to ponder whether he shouldn’t send Ellie off with Tommy.
While chatting and eating together, Ellie snaps at a girl who is hiding from a hiding place watching the newcomers. Of course, this scene could just be seen as proof that Ellie has a mind of her own and doesn’t care about good manners.
More likely, though, is where we see Ellie and Dina’s first interaction. Of course, video game fans already know Dina from “The Last of Us Part 2” and thus this character will also be very important in Season 2 of “The Last of Us”.
Officially, the character played by Paolina van Kleef is dubbed the “Staring Girl,” so HBO has yet to confirm that she is Dina. However, dialogue from “The Last of Us Part 2” fits this moment well.
- Diana: “When I first came to Jackson, I was blown away by all the people.”
- ellie: “I was overwhelmed by all the food. I remember the first week I just stuffed myself. I stuffed food in all my pockets like I was running out.”
- Diana: “I saw that! I remember thinking, ‘Who is this skinny girl stealing all the beef jerky?'”
Season 1 may not see Dina again, but fans did get a taste of Season 2 as Dina and Ellie’s relationship is one of the most popular elements from the second The Last of Us video game.
