Rockstar Games has finally added the ability to drive a train in GTA Onlinevia a mission that will bring back memories to fans of the cult saga.
GTA V And GTA Online, its multiplayer mode powered by Rockstar Games, allows you to get behind the wheel or handlebars of many vehicles. This freedom is one of the great qualities of the saga, the sixth opus of which is expected in 2025. There is nevertheless a means of transport which is put aside by the developers, while this has not always been the case in the previous opuses: the train. But, as spotted by Kotaku in an article published on March 8, this anomaly will be repaired.
The last big update of GTA Online actually includes a new raid which allows you to pilot a train – a first for the video game available since 2013. Thanks to one of the objectives of the Cluckin’ Bell factory raid, you can steal a train and drive it around Los Santos », indicates Rockstar Intel in a tweet shared on March 7. It is accompanied by a clip where we can see the train rushing on the rails. The title of the mission is clear: you have to escape with it.
A train finally playable in GTA Online
In this video published by the Pyre realm gaming channel in December, we discover that the possibility of piloting a train in GTA Online was integrated during a previous update. However, it was not yet officially accessible.
Note that locomotive enthusiasts should temper their enthusiasm: Rockstar Games allows you to pilot a train only as part of a specific mission. For the moment, there is no question of getting on a train anywhere, anytime, at will, in order to sow discord in Los Santos. It’s exactly the same thing in GTA V : only one story mission allows you to take control of a train (it is called “Derailment”).
There is also fertile ground to give a surge of nostalgia to lovers of GTA For years. In the episode San Andreas, released in 2004 on PlayStation 2, we have the opportunity to freely pilot the trains of the Brown Streak Railroad company.
