The law firm: Film offshoot for the series with Sabine Postel

The series "Die Kanzlei" gets a spin-off – as a film. The actors Sabine Postel and Herbert Knaup are of course part of the party.

Spin-offs for series and films are not uncommon. Now the German series "Die Kanzlei", which can usually be seen on Tuesday evening in the Erste, is also getting an offshoot. The shooting of the 90-minute film, which bears the working title "The office: Spring tide", will run until September 14 in Hohwacht, on Fehmarn and in Hamburg and the surrounding area, as the NDR announced on Friday.

Well-known faces

In addition to Sabine Postel (66) alias Isa von Brede and Herbert Knaup (64) alias Markus Gellert, the "Kanzlei" greats Sophie Dal (38) alias Yasmin Meckel and Katrin Pollitt (53) alias Gudrun Wohlers also feature in the offshoot Be a party. Furthermore, Marie Anne Fliegel (80) has another assignment as Isa's mother Marion von Brede.

The director is Bettina Schoeller-Bouju (50), who is working for "Die Kanzlei" for the first time. The script comes from the author Thorsten Näter (67), who has also written all previous series episodes. The film is expected to be shown in the coming year on the slot "Endlich Freitag im Erste". "Die Kanzlei" was broadcast for the first time in 2015 and is basically an offshoot itself, as it is the continuation of the series "Der Dicke" after the main actor Dieter Pfaff (1947-2013) passed away.

This is what the spin-off to "Die Kanzlei" is all about

Instead of going on vacation with the members of the law firm, Isa (Postel) helps her mother Marion (Fliegel) and a fatherly friend (Harald Bruns) on an island in the Baltic Sea. He's about to lose his hotel. While Isa's people who follow her to the island try to solve this problem, Isa tries to find out what keeps her mother on the island. In the process, Isa comes across a secret from her childhood – and suddenly understands a lot in her life that she has never been able to explain before.
