It’s official, the Korean league final will take place at the Gangneung Arena, a sports complex also known for hosting the 2018 Winter Olympics.
The information has been confirmed to us by our colleagues from‘Invent Global: the grand final of the LCK Summer Splitthe Korean league of League of Legends, will be held at Gangneung Arena, Gangneung’s ice palace, originally built for the occasion of the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics.
The grand finale will be a BO5 who will see the two best Korea teams for this season. The final will be played August 28 following the playoffs which will begin on August 17 i.e. the week following the end of the group stages. The top two teams from the group stage will qualify directly for the semi-finals while the teams that finished respectively 3rd and 6th of the competition will face each other during a first match, August 17.
The next day, the 4th and 5th in the group stages. The winners of the matches will then face the first and second in the classification during the semi-finals, Saturday August 20 and Sunday August 21. The winning team will qualify for the Worlds 2022.
