The leading regional press group buys two media specialists in digital

The Ebra press group, which notably publishes the regional dailies “Le Dauphiné Libéré”, “Le Progrès”, “Vosges Matin” and “L’Est Républicain”, has announced the acquisition of Humanoid. This digital media group brings together the specialized information sites “Frandoid”, “Numerama” and “Madmoizelle”.

The leading French regional press group is investing in digital. The Ebra press group owns nine regional dailies in eastern France, including The Dauphine Libere, Progress, Morning Vosges and The Republican East. It sells 850,000 copies a day and has an audience of 132 million annual visits. Ebra announced the acquisition of the Humanoid group, which brings together two media specialists in tech and digital: Frandroid and Numerama.

A strategy geared towards a younger and more connected audience

The Humanoid group also owns the women’s and feminist site miss. These three digital titles bring together 30 million cumulative visits each month. With this new acquisition, the regional daily press group is diversifying its offer and targeting a younger and more connected audience.

This acquisition of Humanoid and its three specialized information sites will also enable the Ebra group to attract new advertisers. The price of this acquisition has not been specified. But according to information from our colleagues in the newspaper Le Figaroit would be between 40 and 60 million euros.
