That’s what we call a hell of a leak! Indeed, all of Google’s plans for its smartphones for the next three years have just appeared on the Web.

Of course, uncertainties remain, but we now know the main lines of the strategy that the American brand will employ.

An already busy 2023

The website Android Authority therefore shared these very informative indiscretions. Just keep in mind that the plans aren’t all set. Thus, some elements could prove to be inaccurate, since Google may revise its strategy along the way. Either way, hostilities will begin around April or May 2023 with the Google I/O event. Two smartphones will be unveiled there before their launch in the first half of the year.

Let’s start with the Google Pixel 7a (codename Lynx) which will offer new features such as a 90 Hz screen and wireless charging. Its price should be similar to that of the Pixel 6a, that is to say 459 euros. The second mobile is none other than the famous Pixel Fold (code name Felix). The folding phone will also land during this period with a price set at $1,799.

Finally, Google will end 2023 with the rollout of its Pixel 8 lineup. It will consist of a base model and a Pro iteration. Few changes will be applied to this smartphone compared to the Pixel 7. However, its design should be more compact and its screen logically smaller.

2024: the year of renewal?

Let’s head towards a more distant future, since 2024 could represent a real turning point for Google. First, a Pixel 8a (codename Akita) is planned and will cost $499. It is important to note that the release of the mobile could be canceled if its predecessor, the Pixel 7a, does not meet with the expected success. Like the iPhone SE, Google’s A line would opt for launches every two years.

Then it will be the turn of the Pixel 9 to appear in the fall of 2024. This time, three models are expected. The classic version will take up the format of the Pixel 8, a Pro (Komodo) will be equipped with a 6.7-inch screen, and a second Pro copy (Caiman) will also be there. The latter would take over all the advantages of the first Pixel 8 Pro, but would opt for a smaller 6.3-inch panel. The Tensor G4 processor will be there, and the look of these mobiles would be inspired by the iPhone 14.

To wrap up 2024, Google is reportedly considering some kind of Pixel Fold overhaul. Only a few minor improvements based on user feedback could be applied to it.

Towards 2025 and beyond?

It’s time to project yourself into a future full of uncertainties! Indeed, Google’s roadmap for 2025 will be significantly influenced by the successes and failures of the previous two years. So what you are about to read should be taken with a grain of salt!

For now, we only know that the brand is thinking big for its Pixel 10 range. Here, we would once again find the basic model and the two Pros. But a fourth device could be added to the first three. And it is surprising.

It would be a folding phone with a clamshell format. The aim would be to compete with Samsung’s Z Flip series. Small peculiarity, Google would hesitate to cancel this copy, but maintaining its desire to launch four Pixel 10. If the one with a foldable screen were to be abandoned, the firm would launch two basic Pixel 10 instead of one and two Pro (one small and one large each time). As for a real successor to the Pixel Fold, its birth will once again depend on the success of the first models.
