The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom should be the heaviest Nintendo game for your Switch

With an epic new trailer that gave fans of the franchise some chills, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom concluded the last Nintendo Direct with mastery. nintendo is finally ready to tell us a little more about its most anticipated game of this year 2023, and the manufacturer was quick to open pre-orders all over the world following this latest presentation. This allowed us to discover some details about this sequel, in particular its weight, which promises to be massive. At least, for a Nintendo game.

Prepare your SD cards

We are now used to seeing games requiring more than 80 GB of free space on the hard disk of our consoles and our PCs. Obviously, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is not of this caliber since it comes out on a machine with reduced storage capacity, even if it should be noted that it should take up a lot of space.

As pointed out on Reddit (picked up by VGC), the Japanese eShop site has mentioned the size of the game, as have other antennas of Nintendo’s sites. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom would thus weigh around 18.2 GBwhich is therefore a little heavier than the 14.4 GB of Breath of the Wild. Which therefore makes it the heaviest first-party Nintendo game on the entire console, which is understandable given that it takes a lot of elements from the first episode, while expanding the map of Hyrule.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be released on May 12 exclusively on Nintendo Switch. The standard edition is already on pre-order.
