Will Lidl’s private label vertical juicer be such a huge success? Still, the arrival of spring is undoubtedly the best time to market the device. Indeed, beautiful fruits and vegetables are starting to invade the stalls of greengrocers and Lidl stores.
Like the vast majority of Silvercrest devices, the juice extractor is offered at a low price since it costs less than 60 € when the price of its main competitors is around 150/200 €. Unlike a centrifuge which can only prepare a juice from very specific fruits or vegetables (carrot, apple, pineapple, etc.), many vegetable foods can be given to the extractor: vegetables and fruits therefore, but also herbs or seeds. Green or detox juices, vegetable milks, smoothies, etc. : there is no shortage of recipes and the German distributor promises that its device preserves the nutritional qualities of food, which is not really surprising.
The 150 W power of the juice extractor makes the worm rotate at a speed of only 60 rpm, a slowness that becomes a real asset for this type of device. Fairly unsophisticated, it still has a “reverse” function that allows you to unblock plant debris that sometimes gets stuck in the circuit. A “stop-drip” system is also provided by Lidl thanks to a cap positioned on the outlet tube.
If all this is attractive, we note all the same that the food insertion hole is quite narrow: 3.5 cm by 4 cm. It will therefore be necessary to prepare the fruits and vegetables carefully before pressing them.
