“The Lion’s Den” is back and this time it’s all about intestinal health – with a special plum and a very special treatment.
Germany’s only start-up show on television is on the gas again. The second episode deals with a sensitive topic: male fertility. Two founders want to have invented a help for this, but there are concerns. A female founder, on the other hand, shows how she stopped her sunburn with shea butter and other new inventions are looking for an investor.

More fertility thanks to “Silverton” underpants?
The name of the company sounds like a Formula 1 racing team. It’s no wonder that ex-world champion Nico Rosberg quickly agreed to put on the inventor’s underpants. What makes the laundry so special? The founders Richard Getz and Constantin Ricken say that mobile phone radiation and other electronic devices damage health and especially male fertility. Your underpants should protect you from that. It fits well, but the necessity does not convince all lions. Georg Kofler scolds straight away that he considers the cell phone radiation to be “hocus pocus” and that it is “outright nonsense”. Thousands of scientists are working on the 5G network that the radiation is not dangerous, but Nico Rosberg contradicts Kofler. He certainly understands the concerns of the founders, who also present studies on this. “For every piece of nonsense there is a study that proves it,” Kofler replies, and Nils Glagau and Ralf Dümmel are also skeptical. Will the founders get the desired 120,000 euros for 15 percent of their company?
“Laxplum” wants to promote digestion
Kerstin Hansen and Louis Lowe are all about the gut. Both are fasting hikers and have therefore dealt with defecation in detail. Her company Laxplum works with a special type of plum that has been fermented. It is said to improve intestinal health. Ten percent of their company is worth 75,000 euros to the founders.
“Shea Yeah”: Entering the beauty market with shea butter
Founder Sandra Fischer is certain: unrefined shea butter is a good idea. Since a severe sunburn she suffered in Ghana, which was treated with unrefined shea butter, she’s convinced. The material is an optimal basis for various products. She wants 110,000 euros for 15 percent for this idea. The hand cream is available from 14.99 euros net. (Advertisement)

“audiry” is an interactive audio book
The audio book market is booming and video games are also reaching an increasing number of customers. Why not combine? That’s what “audiry” founder Max Rose thought. The listeners can interactively decide how a story line continues. After the end, they can go back to the relevant interfaces and change their mind. Max wants 120,000 euros for 15 percent of his company.
“The Lion’s Den” runs on Mondays at 8:15 p.m. on VOX.
“toolbot”: power tools for everyone
Mario Drelas, Dr. Christian Lehmann and Jan Gerlach invented an automated rental station for power tools. In contrast to conventional rental stations, customers can book the appropriate tool in advance and then borrow it from the appropriate stations. A scan detects whether all parts of the tool case have been returned. Sporty: The founders want 500,000 euros for ten percent of their company.
