“Marriage at first sight”: That’s why René rarely sees his daughter

“It’s crazy how time flies …” comments “Marriage at First Sight” candidate René on a recent post on his Instagram channel. Last year, the 30-year-old and his sweetheart Nicole, also 30, became parents. The two met on the Sat1 show, but initially married other people on TV. Love came suddenly, and almost more surprisingly, complete happiness with little Lucia. But the doting dad can hardly keep up with the growth spurts of his magical offspring. “It’s only now that I’m slowly realizing what people mean when they say you should enjoy your time, our little one is growing up fast enough [sic].” Words that sound a bit melancholic, because the career soldier can’t really spend a lot of time with his child at the moment.

“Unfortunately I’m only at home on the weekends at the moment, because of my work I have a lot of respect for Nicole, who does an absolutely great job WITHOUT whining or complaining [sic]”, explains the current part-time father. During the week, René is in the barracks. Unfortunately, there are only two days left for cuddling and watching him grow up. “BUT when Lucia smiles at me in the morning/noon/evening/at night, everything is simply forgotten [sic]”, says the North Rhine-Westphalian happily. Apparently, the radiant Mini is dad’s biggest fan. Everything done right, René!
