For example, have you paid attention to these two children, huddled with their mother in the Sparkling Caverns, while the Battle of Helm’s Deep is about to begin, in the last part of The Two Towers?
To make sure you see them clearly, press pause at 2 hours, 48 minutes and 13 seconds of the film, when the storm breaks and the Uruk-hai rush towards the walls. Even if they only appear on screen for two or three seconds, they are not extras like the others, quite simply because they are Billy and Katie Jackson, the two children of director Peter Jackson.

One cameo per film
We can also see them on two other occasions in the trilogy, since they play two Hobbits listening to Bilbo’s stories, at the beginning of The Fellowship of the Ring, and two young inhabitants of Minas Tirith watching people pass by. Faramir and his men, in The Return of the King.
Let us also note that their father Peter Jackson also offered three cameos in his own saga. We can indeed see him biting into a carrot when the Hobbits cross the town of Bree, throwing a javelin from the top of the walls during the Battle of Helm’s Deep, and commanding a crew of pirates in The Return of the King.
