The Lord of the Rings in France? Mordor would be near Paris!

A certain Jeremy Cuykens, fan of “Lord of the Rings”, had a fun idea: to transpose Middle-earth on French territory. And it’s downright clever!

What if the Lord of the Rings card was transposed… to France? This is the funny idea that had a certain Jeremy Cuykens, a fan of Tolkien’s work. With him, we therefore forget Middle-earth to discover… Middle Francia!

A little over a year ago, Jeremy Cuykens showed us France from a whole new perspective, as you can discover below. With its adaptation like no other, Mordor is very close to Paris, Barad Dur taking the place of the Eiffel Tower, and the Alps become the Misty Mountains (and Mont-Blanc Caradhras).

But that’s not all, because Jeremy Cuykens has carried out a Middle-earth / France transposition, to say the least, complete. For him, the Norman castle of Falaise represents the Gouffre de Helm and the fortified city of Minas Tirith takes on the finery of the city of Rocamadour. Finally, to believe you are in the County in the company of the Hobbits, but in France, you have to go for a little walk on the side of the Massif Central!

The year 2022 will be placed under the sign of the Lord of the Rings. The long-awaited series The Rings of Power will indeed be unveiled next September on the Amazon Prime Video service.
