The Lord of the Rings Online will stay, even after the Amazon Games MMO

After a first failed attempt in partnership with Tencent, Amazon Games has partnered with Embrace Group in order to develop a new massively multiplayer online video game in the world of Lord of the Rings. A title obviously eagerly awaited by many fans, except perhaps by Lord of the Rings Online players.A MMORPGs existing since 2007.

Eh yes, SDAO (or LOTRO in English) players are afraid to see their favorite role-playing game disappear after the release of the MMOs ofAmazon Gamestheir concern reached the ears of the developer Standing Stone Games who shared a statement to reassure them. Clear, The Lord of the Rings Online will stay active even with this other MMOs in parallel, the studio declares:

Over the past few days, we’ve received a number of notes from excited and concerned community members about a new MMO from Amazon Games coming to the Tolkien universe.

Some people have asked what this means for LOTRO. We wanted to keep everyone in the community up to date and make sure that LOTRO is not going away!

Like you, we and our partners at Middle-Earth Enterprises are big fans of LOTRO. He is loved, he is sixteen years old, he is always green. LOTRO is like long-lasting Ents, Elves and Dwarves; and we mere mortals are the stewards of LOTRO and its community. Standing Stone is committed to growing and supporting this community. The road continues…

Even after sixteen years of existence, The Lord of the Rings Online is still very activewith regular updates, events in-game and even extensions, Before the Shadow being released last November. A great adventure for fans of Tolkien’s universe which will therefore continue even with the MMOs ofAmazon Games side, something to satisfy everyone. You can find the book The Lord of the Rings To €19.90 on Amazon.
