After the terrible ending of the 6th episode of “The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart,” viewers are wondering how the Amazon Prime Video series will end. We tell you how the story of Alice ends in the novel by Holly Ringland. Spoilers follow!

June, Alice’s beloved grandmother, loses her battle with cancer. She leaves Alice the Thornfield dictionary as a legacy. The farm’s long-time residents, Candy and Twig, reveal to Alice that June witnessed Clem’s domineering and aggressive behavior towards her mother.

This led to June deciding not to give him the Thornfield family estate. Clem then left the property with Alice’s mother, but vowed never to speak to June again.

Alice has a brother

The ladies go on to tell Alice that her brother was born prematurely and survived the fire. June left him in the hospital, afraid of the challenges of caring for a sick newborn. She also wanted to spare Alice further suffering if he didn’t survive.

Alice eventually goes back to her homeland to see Sally Morgan, the local librarian who was named as guardian by her mother. Sally reports that she herself had a relationship with Clem when she was young, which culminated in an affair. Their daughter Gillian, who tragically died of leukemia at the age of five, comes from this relationship.

Although Sally sent letters to June over the years, June did not want Alice to contact Sally or her brother Charlie, who was almost 20 years old at the time.

As these deep secrets are revealed, the bond between Alice and Charlie is strengthened. Together they embark on an emotional journey back to Thornfield. Finally, at the end, Alice reveals to herself that the most powerful story she will ever possess is her own.

The series “The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart” was created as a miniseries. A second season of the series is not planned and probably will not exist.
