The man who solved cold cases accused of two sordid rapes 30 years ago

He was known for solving cold cases. The founder of a group of volunteer divers that helps families find missing loved ones has been arrested in Florida for a rape case. Indeed, he is suspected of having sexually abused a little girl close to him twice in 1992. Jarek Leisek was imprisoned on January 5, 2023. According to local authorities, the 17-year-old individual at the time allegedly attacked his 10-year-old cousin in a family home. The 47-year-old man reportedly sent an apology email to the victim. “I’m so sorry for the things we can’t change.”

Raised in a family of Mormons, Jarek Leisek would have tried to justify himself by admitting to having been sexually assaulted himself in his childhood. “Like you, I was once victimized by several people both inside and outside the family. (…) It’s unfortunate when families like ours suffer attacks.” The suspect says he has “make peace” with “all the bad things” of his life“including this one”. A real blow for the families of the disappeared, who are counting on their association to try to find out the truth.

A foundation that would have solved many cold cases

Indeed, on his Youtube channel, True Crime Adventure with purpose, the individual puts a lot of resources into finding the missing. He also conducts investigations to collect clues. On the foundation’s website, he explains that he solved 26 disappearances in 2019. “Last year, her involvement in the investigation into the disappearance of a 16-year-old girl sparked controversy as volunteers filmed the rescue operation from the car the girl was sitting in when she was dead.”
