This character who appeared in episode 5 of “The Mandalorian” confirmed the close ties that unite the program to the animated series Star Wars: Rebels!
Please note, the following details the plot of the fifth episode of The Mandalorian season 3, available on Disney+. If you haven’t seen it yet, and don’t want to know anything about its content, then you are strongly recommended to stop reading this article now.
The first episode had hinted at links between the two series, but now episode 5 of The Mandalorian season 3 confirms it: yes the Star Wars live-action series will see heroes from the Rebels cartoon appear.
Episode 1 saw the appearance of Purrgils, those creatures with the ability to travel at hyperspace speed, last seen in the final episode of the Star Wars animated series.
But while the action of Rebels takes place during the between-two trilogies, The Mandalorian on the other hand follows the plot of Episode 6 (The Return of the Jedi). Several years therefore separate the history of the two series, but this chronological gap does not prohibit a crossover between the two Star Wars productions.
And it is for this reason that the iconic Garazeb Orrelios (aka Zeb), one of the main heroes of the Star Wars animated series, was able to appear in the third season of Mandalorian.

A real badass, this Lasat from the planet Lasan decided to join the ranks of the Rebellion following the destruction of this homeworld by the Imperial armies. This ace of the trigger, also an expert in mechanics, never misses an opportunity to demonstrate his courage in the face of danger.
Before Zeb, Ahsoka Tano and Bo-Katan – who also appeared in Rebels – also made their live-action debuts in season 2 of The Mandalorian. Ezra Bridger is, meanwhile, supposed to appear in the spin-off devoted to Ahsoka (a surprise appearance of the Jedi in The Mandalorian season 3 is therefore not to be excluded).
