The drafting of Digital has set out to answer this question by contrasting the JBL Clip 4 and the Marshall Willen, two small mobile speakers that fit in the hand and are sold under the 100 € mark. Although both obtained the maximum rating of 5 stars at the time of their test, it is the Marshall Willen who emerges as the winner of this duel.
Among its strong points, the Marshall Willen offers a rich and pleasant sound signature at moderate volume, an elegant and robust design (IP67 certified), and generous autonomy (18 hours on our protocol). It is also very easy to handle, offers complete controls and has a multipoint Bluetooth. Its rectangular format makes it practical to store, and its small handle makes it easy to attach to a rigid support.
Its rival, the JBL Clip 4 is not demerit either with a surprisingly rich and balanced sound reproduction given its size, a robust and waterproof design (IP67), but also a simple and quick handling, helped by the presence of a very practical carabiner to hang it wherever you want. As with the Willen, due to the reduced size of the product, you should not expect very high listening quality at high volume, since distortion and pumping effects are felt.
No coincidence, therefore, if this Marshall Willen was the winner of the last edition of our stars of the Digital. On the other hand, this model is sold for a hundred euros, while its competitor of the day is almost 50% cheaper.
