A sequel to “The Masked Dancer” is not planned by ProSieben for the time being. With “The Masked Singer”, on the other hand, it will continue in 2023.

While ProSieben is still sticking to the singing show “The Masked Singer” after seven seasons, the spin-off “The Masked Dancer” has been put on hold after just one issue. ProSieben spokesman Christoph Körfer has that “DWDL.de” confirmed. Accordingly, the private broadcaster is not planning to continue the dance format in the coming months.

“The Masked Singer” continues in 2023

The first and so far only season of “The Masked Dancer” was broadcast in early 2022, Oliver Petszokat (44) won the show in a monkey costume. Compared to the original, however, the show got significantly weaker ratings.

“The Masked Singer”, on the other hand, should continue with an eighth season in the first half of 2023, says Körfer. However, the broadcaster has not yet announced a fixed date.
