The koala had to take off his mask in the third show of “The Masked Singer”. Among them was a world-renowned singer.

In the third show of the sixth season of “The Masked Singer” (always on Saturdays, from 8:15 p.m. live on ProSieben and on Joyn) great guesswork was announced again. However, one assumption was cleared up right from the start: Since Carolin Kebekus (41) was the guest on show three, she couldn’t be the zebra. Rea Garvey (48) also lost a bet against the starfish last week and therefore shone in a sequined suit.

Galax’Sis returned after a corona infection and was able to be on stage again. The stars in the costumes had to get back into the ring in four-way battles. Orc, gorilla, koala and disco ball competed against each other as well as starfish, thorny devil, Galax’Sis and zebra.

The ork sang in Italian and Turkish, in show three English was on his program. He performed “Just a Girl” by No Doubt. For his appearance he had dressed up especially – with pink painted nails. The guessing team was enthusiastic about the performance. Kebekus suspected the Turkish singer Elif (29) or the Guano Apes front woman Sandra Nasić (45) under the costume. Ruth Moschner (45) threw the name Menderes (37) into the ring. Rea Garvey, on the other hand, was sure that a woman was in the costume. He also named Sandra Nasić and Michelle Hunziker (45).

Gorilla exudes coolness

Then the gorilla stepped in and sang the rock classic “Livin’ on a Prayer” by Bon Jovi. Rea Garvey brought Frederick Lau (32) into play. The gorilla has “so much coolness”, so you can imagine Bülent Ceylan (46) or actor Ben Becker (57) in a costume, explained Moschner. Kebekus named Matthias Schweighöfer (41), even if the voice “doesn’t fit”.

Next up was the koala with the exceptional voice and the song “Cold Heart” by Dua Lipa (26) and Elton John (75) on stage. Rea Garvey guessed the British tenor Paul Potts (51) because he assumed that English was the koala’s native language. Moschner suspected David Hasselhoff (69).

Disco ball surprises with a calm song

The disco ball can also be “completely different” than just a party and club atmosphere, announced moderator Matthias Opdenhövel (51). And indeed: With the song “Wild World” by Cat Stevens (73), she struck up a calm tone. According to Rea Garvey and Carolin Kebekus, Jeanette Biedermann (42) could be in the costume, Moschner named singer Alina (37).

The starfish showed his skills with the song “Fame” by Irene Cara (63). Garvey guessed a professional singer. Moschner could imagine Josefine Preuss (36) among them. Kebekus preferred to write her guess on a piece of paper that she handed to Opdenhövel, and Rea Garvey didn’t give a tip either.

The thorn devil rocked the stage with “Man on a Mission” by Oh the Larceny. The audience and guessing team were enthusiastic. Rea Garvey suspected actor Mark Keller (56) in the costume. Moschner bet on Til Schweiger (58) and Kebekus on Torsten Sträter (55). The two agreed that there must be a handsome man underneath.

Is Galax’Sis a professional singer?

Galax’Sis then performed the song “In the Dark” by Purple Disco Machine and Sophie and the Giants. Ruth Moschner named Linda Zervakis (46) and Indira Weis (42) as possible stars under the mask. Kebekus brought Celine Dion (54) into play. Rea Garvey suspected a professional singer – a “voice that we haven’t heard for a long time”: Joana Zimmer (39).

The zebra once again caused goosebumps on stage and sang “Rise Up” by Andra Day (37). Rea Garvey in particular was touched. Moschner and Kebekus guessed Anke Engelke (56), LEA (29) was also named.

In the end, four stars wobbled: the gorilla, the koala, the starfish and Galax’Sis. In the end, the koala got the fewest votes. Ruth Moschner threw another name into the running before the unmasking: Helge Schneider (66). The spectators also guessed Rolando Villazón (50) and Paul Panzer (50). In fact, tenor Paul Potts was in the costume, but he looked rather disappointed when he emerged from under his mask. So Rea Garvey was spot on with his tip. “What an honor that Paul Potts is here,” said Ruth Moschner enthusiastically.
