fun, news, tips… what else?

On January 4, 2022, we learned that the Enfoirés 2022 concerts were canceled for the second year in a row. A news that has a considerable impact on the Restos du Coeur.

This year again, the Enfoirés will be deprived of the public for their charity concert. The coronavirus pandemic has not made it possible, for the second year in a row, to hold Restos du Cœur concerts in front of an audience. “This situation unfortunately has significant financial consequences for the future funding of the social missions of personal assistance for the Restos du Cœur”, could we read in the press release that the association had published. This choice was not an easy one for the association’s volunteers who welcome 1.2 million people to their reception centers every year. “We are aware of the disappointment of the spectators, it is also disappointing for us, for the artists. Unfortunately, it was the most responsible and reasonable solution to take”, said Laurence Ountzian, volunteer responsible for the Enfoirés at Entertainment TV.

A wise and sanitary decision which has, however, serious consequences on the money that the association collects thanks to these concerts. “The absence of ticketing plus on-site merchandising represents a loss of nearly 4 million euros for the Restos. As we consider that one euro collected by Les Enfoirés is equal to a meal, it is 4 million meals less”, explained the volunteer.

The Restos du Coeur in the face of the health crisis

In a press release, the leaders of the association wanted to raise awareness of the situation of precarious people, especially during this period of a pandemic. “Les Restos du Cœur and Les Enfoirés would like to remind you that precariousness does not suffer from any restrictions. It is getting worse, and this in particular because of this crisis. During our last campaign, Les Restos du Cœur welcomed and assisted 1.2 million people and distributed 142 million meals. Figures that are likely to be at least similar throughout our current 37th campaign.”

Despite everything, the artists will therefore perform in front of an empty room, in order to be able to ensure the recording of the concert, which is scheduled to be broadcast, as usual, on TF1. This recording will make it possible to sell the CDs and DVDs of the event, the profits of which go directly to the Restos du Cœur association. Les Enfoirés have already unveiled their new single for this 2022 edition, “There will always be a date.”
