On April 4, 2017, Kylian * witnessed the worst. 5 years old at the time, he saw his mother die under the beatings of his father in the family kitchen. The little boy, who was playing in front of the house, had just returned to join his 18-month-old brother when the unacceptable happened. “Dad made a big mistake and afterwards, my mum died”, he will say next.

On April 26, 2021, the newspaper The cross told this terrible feminicide. The father of the family, named Grégory, was tried by the Assize Court of Maine-et-Loire a few days earlier. During the trial, relatives of the victim – a 29-year-old woman named Séverine – testify to the violence she suffered from her ex-spouse. The latter began to “demean” her to “speak badly” to him. Then, after their separation, came the beatings.
Seven fractures in the face
On January 8, 2017, he started by hitting her on the thighs. A few days later, he broke her nose. Séverine lives in fear, files a complaint, but no protective measures are in place. His son tells him that daddy said “That he was going to kill mom”. She then takes out life insurance for her children, reports La Croix. Then, over the weeks, returns to see the father of her children, who is more “cool” with her.
On April 4, however, she lost her life after being violently beaten by her ex-partner. The accused kicked him in the face, in front of his two sons. “We have identified seven fractures in the face”, explains the forensic expert.
“Daddy, he pushed mum”
At the bar, the nanny explains that Kylian had already mentioned his father’s violent behavior. ” One day. Kylian said to my husband: “You love Tata a lot. Because you don’t hit her and you don’t pull her hair. ” Another night, Kylian wanted to kick his mother. I told him we don’t hit his mom. And he said to me: “Yes, because daddy does it …” “, she says.
Still according to La Croix, on the second day of the trial, President Olivier Guérin decides to broadcast an interview between the little boy and a gendarme, the day after his mother’s death. What he says, with his words, is bordering on unbearable. “Mum she was at home and daddy he pushed mum and he kicked (…). There was a lot of blood everywhere and then I said that I would have no more mom ”, he says. Before adding: “I hit dad because I wanted to stop him. I wanted to call the hospital to put her in the hospital bed. That way, if we put her in the hospital bed and long after, she will be no longer dead. “
At the end of the third day of the trial, the accused asked for forgiveness from his children, but also from his relatives. “What I have done is excruciating, unforgivable. Séverine did not deserve this “, he says. The same evening, the Assize Court condemned Grégory D. to twenty years imprisonment.
