The mini-series “The Murderer’s Confidant”, which is based on true events, shows in a cruelly realistic way how the case surrounding the serial killers Fred and Rosemary West was solved and how the trial companion Janet dealt with the situation.

Social worker Janet Leach quickly realizes how terrible life can be after she assists the police during an interview. Fred and his wife Rosemary West are accused of murdering their own daughter Heather, who was found abandoned in the couple’s garden.

Despite confessions from Fred, Janet must maintain secrecy as more and more children’s bodies are dug up in the garden. Directed by Julian Jarrold, you’ll find out how Janet deals with the situation, what it means for her own family and how the case was ultimately solved.
