The Murena Fairphone 5 takes up the characteristics of the Fairphone 5, but by ridding it of all traces of Google, while retaining Android 13.

The modular, repairable and durable Fairphone 5 smartphone, just launched on the market, is available in a Murena Fairphone 5 version, completely free from Google and based on the mobile operating system /e/OS.

Android 13, but without Google

The objective of this model is to offer an alternative to Android with Google sauce to users who would like to protect themselves against the collection of their personal data operated by Google, while benefiting from Fairphone’s ecological and sustainable proposal.

/e/OS remains based on Android, which is open source, but Google applications and services that are usually preinstalled on mobiles are removed here, in favor of open source solutions. Thus, your personal information is not sent to remote servers without your consent. ” We don’t scan your data in your phone or cloud space, and we don’t track your location hundreds of times a day or collect what you do with your apps “says Murena.

A durable smartphone

Eight components of the smartphone are repairable and replaceable, including the removable 4,200 mAh battery, rated to provide a day of autonomy and a longevity of more than 1,000 complete cycles. The Murena Fairphone 5 is 5G compatible and comes with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage space, expandable up to 2 TB.

It is water and dust resistant, according to the IP55 standard, equipped with an OLED screen with a definition of 2,770 x 1,224 pixels (between Full HD and Quad HD), a refresh rate of 90 Hz and a ratio of 20:9. It also benefits from a dual 50 megapixel photo sensor as well as a 50 megapixel front camera as well.
