But what we will remember above all from this conference is the surprise announcement of a brand new Mario! Indeed, the famous mustachioed plumber will be making a comeback on BigN’s hybrid console from on October 20, 2023.

Mario returns to 2D in Super Mario Bros. wonder
This episode, dubbed Super Mario Bros. Wonder, will not be a 3D opus like Super Mario Odyssey was. No, Nintendo has decided to return classic side-scrolling all in 2D. A kind of homecoming for the license.
At first glance, we find all the codes of a Super Mario Bros game: clean and refined lines, simple but charming decorations, Goombas, Koopa Troopas and fire flowers to transform Mario into an arsonist for a few moments.
But, the game suddenly becomes crazier when our hero picks up a “Wonder Flower”, a wonderful flower. By picking up this item, the world changes diametrically: the pipes begin to move in all directions, magic cows arrive at a whirlwind, and Mario unlocks new abilities and transformations.
But that’s not all, since it will obviously be possible to share the adventure with up to 4 players on the same couch as Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy or Toad. And good news, Yoshi is back!
