Cathy Andrieu, who plays Cathy in “The Mysteries of Love” and “Hélène and the boys”, confided in the evolution of her character, now in a troupe with Béatrice and Alban.
The actors of The Mysteries of Love are not always satisfied with the treatment of their characters. After the rant of Manuela Lopez, who announced her hasty departure from the series in 2021 and the words of Magali Semetys, who lamented that the scenarios become “absurd, even nonsense”, it is the turn of Cathy Andrieu, alias Cathy, to criticize the evolution of her character, who is currently in a troupe with Béatrice (Julie Chevallier) and Alban.
“Since Cathy got back together with Béatrice, I find myself isolated again. Of course I asked for it to change, but Jean-Luc Azoulay does what he wants,” she confided to our colleagues from All TV. “We can’t influence it too much…“.
The actress, who started her career in Hélène and the boys, also explained that she did not validate Cathy’s new plot. “Personally, I would very much like to get back to normal with José and the children. But Cathy took another path where she lets herself be influenced. Béatrice makes her leave for other desires.“
“JI didn’t want this new troop. I wanted there to be other stories. Why not let Cathy live a real story with Béatrice. To leave in purely sexual stories, personally I did not want it. I think there were other things to say. But afterwards, I don’t have the finality. I don’t know where this will take us.”
Cathy Andrieu only wants one thing: that her character rebels and stops following Béatrice. “When I joined The Mysteries of Love, Cathy had this independence. She worked, had her son, and led a bit of everything. Today, she is still waiting for the father of the children to return and it is not at all the case.”
“I wish Cathy would rebel. She is not submissive, but suffers more and more. I would like Jean-Luc Azoulay to write something where all of a sudden, Cathy will piss everyone off.”
The actress also returned to the criticisms made by some viewers who believe that The Mysteries of Love is about sex too much. “I understand them“, she confided. “Missing non-sexual events.”
“The Mysteries of Love is about love, relationships, but we would have to go back to friendly relationships, which were really there at the start of Hélène and the boys. I find that it does not come together enough, that there is not enough friendly intrigue. We would like some renewal in the themes. I don’t know if he hears it, but Jean-Luc Azoulay knows…”
