The mysterious death of an American student dropped off unconscious at the hospital by her Uber

A 21-year-old American woman died in hospital after being dropped off there by her Uber driver while she was unconscious. His family is looking for answers.

What happened to Ciaya Jordan Whetstone? This 21-year-old American student, living in New Orleans, died after being dropped off unconscious at the hospital by her Uber driver. His family is trying to understand what happened in the hours leading up to his death and “demands justice”, says the “New York Post”. The young woman from South Carolina was pronounced dead on Saturday. “She had participated in the Mardi Gras parade on Friday and then there was a big gap between that time and when she was dropped off at the hospital,” her cousin Grace Sutton said, as quoted by WCIV. “We don’t really know what happened. I just pray that she didn’t suffer and that she gets the justice she deserves. I’m just asking God, why, why, why her? I feel helpless,” she added.

Ciaya Whetstone reportedly attended Mardi Gras parades with her friend Juliet Orr before heading to a bar with other friends. She was then reportedly driven by a relative to her boyfriend’s home in the suburb of Hanrahan. Then, she allegedly took an Uber home to take care of her dog, Juliet Orr said. When another friend allegedly tried to reach her on Saturday night, he heard the Uber driver on the phone asking if she liked to party. Ciaya would then have said on the phone that she would call back her interlocutor, but she never did.

Authorities did not give details.

“Ciaya was a very good person, she didn’t deserve this in any way,” her longtime friend Kassidy Crosby told WJBF. “His dad and my dad have been best friends their whole lives, so we’ve always been very close.” Authorities have not commented on the case. The autopsy could also take several months to complete. The president of the University of New Orleans, John Nicklow, issued a statement after news of the young woman’s death was announced. “As a university, few things are harder than dealing with the sadness of a student’s death. Our thoughts are with Ciaya’s family and friends. We offer our assistance to students and employees who need support”.
