The name of the future CEO of EDF will be known “in the coming days” – Bruno Le Maire

PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)–The identity of the future CEO of the energy company EDF will be known in the coming days, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Bruno Le Maire, said on RMC on Tuesday.

“We have made our choice on a certain number of names, I have submitted these names to the Prime Minister and the President of the Republic, who will decide in the coming days who will lead EDF”, explained Bruno Le Maire during this maintenance.

At the beginning of July, the French State announced that it had initiated the succession process for the CEO of EDF, Jean-Bernard Lévy, after the government announced its intention to increase the capital of the French energy company to 100%. The operation must be carried out by means of a simplified public purchase offer at the price of 12 euros per EDF share. At the start of the session on Tuesday, the title of the energy company grabbed 0.1%, to 12.02 euros.

The mandate of Jean-Bernard Lévy, reached by the age limit, at the head of EDF must end on March 18, 2023. “In agreement with Jean-Bernard Lévy, the new CEO of EDF, when he will be appointed, will be able to take office before this deadline”, specified the company in a press release sent in July.
