Warzone has long been dominated by the Kar98k being a very popular meta weapon. Thanks to its maneuverability and incredible stopping power, the popular sniper rifle was a real monster in the right hands. Despite this, its recent iteration is not unanimous.
Warzone players are hoping for a fix to be put in place to rebalance the weapon, and they are directing their concerns to the developers.

Despite its appeal to Warzone for many Seasons, the Kar98k is losing popularity. Indeed, as JournalistBright109 pointed out, the devastating drop in its damage may have been too “important”. Responding to the original post a player said “they literally punish people for being good at the game” in response to shocking images of a Kar98k doing no damage.
Another disgruntled player feels that the nerfs affect multiple weapon classes besides sniper rifles: “You can’t use 75% of snipers, almost all shotguns, almost all pistols. Half the ARs, and SMGs are useless too”.
If the Kar98k nerf is brutal, some players feel like the decision is legit “Yeah, it’s a severe nerf, but they’ve been overkill for years. It’s a difficult balance to find”.
The Kar98k has been a crucial part of many classes for casual gamers and streamers for several Seasons. However, many will have to reconsider their opinion of the weapon if nothing changes.
