The people of Zurich had to wait three years before one of their biggest folk festivals could take place again in the usual setting. The corona virus ensured that the boys’ shooting could not be held at all in 2020 and only to a limited extent in 2021.

Last year, 32 former marksmen and queens competed against each other – a kind of best-of. Stefan Gysin prevailed in the trick of the kings and was voted the best marksman of all time. The organizers did without the big chili.

This year the Albisgüetli looked like it did before the pandemic. Already at the weekend, many shooting sports fans and onlookers paid a visit to the traditional event. Many come mainly for the Chilbi. The heart of the boys’ shooting is undoubtedly the shooting competition – and Nils Oliver Stolz dominated this year.

The man from Zurich was the only one to reach the maximum number of points, 35, and was therefore the top marksman even before he was knocked out. He was born in 2007 and comes from the city of Zurich. A total of twelve shooters, all of whom had achieved 34 points, competed for the remaining podium places, including three girls. Lino Eisenring (33 points) from Uster and third place were taken by Timothy Pfister (32 points) from Oetwil an der Limmat.

At the last regular boys’ shooting three years ago, the winner, Neva Menzi, was already certain before being knocked out, as she was the only one who had achieved the maximum number of points.

Pride is honored on Monday afternoon. Afterwards there will be a procession with the Schützenkönig on the Üetlibergstrasse.
