After Netflix and Disney+, Amazon unveils all the new Prime Video releases for April 2024 with huge programs, including ultra-cult license series.
Prime Video brings up the rear by announcing its April 2024 releases, after Netflix and Disney+. The battle will still be fierce and Amazon does not really want to lose ground. Like other SVOD services, the platform will mix already known films and series with cult works, but also real new releases with great exclusives. The television show adapted from an iconic video game franchise is arriving… alongside another that left its mark on the 90s. Hint for you: one of the actors is in God of War and gives speeches longer than the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 campaign.
The new Prime Video releases for April 2024
This time it’s good! Amazon has published the complete and official agenda of new Prime Video releases for April 2024. After offering the Back to the Future trilogy, the service is banking on a cult production by Robert Zemeckis: Forrest Gump. A gem with Tom Hanks who has fully deserved its status as a masterpiece and a great classic. The platform also brings back one of the most legendary cops of the 80s: RoboCop. The trilogy arrives on April 1st. For fans of fights and action sequences, the Jason Bourne saga also arrives on the same date. We don’t have the details, but given the title, there is a chance that the five films released between 2002 and 2016 will be available.
The Prime Video releases for April 2024 also feature humor with two feature films by Fabrice Éboué, Case Départ and Le Crocodile du Botswanga. Too wise yet? The dirty kids from South Park the film will come and set the mood at the start of the month. The DC Universe will be represented by one of its weakest elements, Shazam. The superhero film with Zachary Levi discovered in the geek series Chuck. The excellent Catch Me If You Can with Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks will make a stop from April 15. It’s not cult like Forrest Gump, but it remains a very successful Spielberg in its genre.
If you’re wondering what a sequel to Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining could be, Doctor Sleep will answer that question. This is a direct adaptation of the book written by Stephen King published in 1979. It absolutely does not equal The Shining, but there are some nice scenes with Ewan McGregor and Rebecca Ferguson (Mission Impossible 7). It will be April 1 on Amazon Prime Video.
