the new search bar will be impossible to avoid

Google will soon modify part of the Play Store with a new search bar. More complete, it also changes place and gains a particularity which will make it visible in spite of itself.

You have known it for a long time, Google Play Store is like any application offered by the Mountain View firm: it benefits from regular updates which transform it over time. This is how new features are added, such as the introduction of artificial intelligence to make you waste less time when choosing an application. Or the possibility of launching the download of several applications simultaneously, which has been expected for many years.

Other developments concern the Play Store design. They are mostly successful, but sometimes not. For example when they add unnecessary steps to certain operations such as accessing the page indicating whether app updates are available. Even more painful when the only shortcut to get around it doesn’t work. The modification that interests us here is quite radical. It risks dividing users by affecting something fundamental: search bar.

The Play Store will integrate a new search bar

Once the update is deployed on your mobile, you will see the message “Here is the search tab. Discover amazing apps and games with new personalized suggestions“. As you see in the screenshot below, a magnifying glass icon is placed in the banner at the bottom of the page. It replaces the top search barwhich disappears in favor of displaying your possible Play Points.

The search itself is divided into 4 sections, ranging from suggestions based on your recent searches to keyword grids. The other novelty of this headband is that it is persistent. It will therefore always be displayed at the bottom of the screen while you browse the Play Store. The new design is currently being rolled out. It will surely be a little confusing at first, but it should be fairly easy to get to grips with.
