The next version of iOS 16, iOS 16.1.1, could mainly fix an annoying bug related to Wi-Fi, which could cut off when the iPhone was in standby. The opportunity also to solve some other problems.
Last September, iOS 16 was released, obviously with new features. A month later, Apple rolled out iOS 16.1, bringing fixes and new features. However, this does not mean that the current version of the iPhone operating system is devoid of bugs. Apple would have in mind to fix some of them with iOS 16.1.1 with a deployment that would arrive soon.
iOS 16.1.1 would fix a widespread Wi-Fi bug
If the change log for this future version of iOS is not yet fully known, we already have some rumors that come to teach us certain elements. Apple would fix a bug in iPhone Wi-Fi as a priority.
This is a widespread and persistent issue that randomly turns off iPhone Wi-Fi when left on standby. When it comes out of standby, the phone reconnects to the Internet and notifications can then all fuse at once, which can be annoying.
Apple digs into other iOS 16 issues
The developer of iOS would also take the opportunity to resolve other concerns of its operating system. Some iPhone 14 Pro animations would be fixed, Spotlight search speed improved, battery optimized in addition to other small changes.
Also, the status page on Apple’s developer site notes an issue affecting SKAdNetwork on iOS 16. Apple says it is “trying to quickly resolve this issue in a software update“. SKAdNetwork is a tool allowing “advertisers to measure the accuracy and success of ads by associating app installs with a specific ad campaign“, noteWCCF Techwho reports the news.
At the same time, we know that Apple is working on iOS 16.2, which should bring some new features as well. An update that should arrive later in the year, in December.
