Jan 28 (Reuters) – The Tokyo Stock Exchange ended sharply higher on Friday, after ending the day before at its lowest in 14 weeks, buoyed by strong quarterly results from Apple Inc.
The Nikkei index gained 2.09% to 26,717.34 points and the broader Topix gained 1.88% to 1,877.11 points.
The Nikkei, however, shows a decline of 2.92% over the week, its largest weekly decline since the end of November and its fourth consecutive week in the red.
