The Midnight Club (October 7)

Mike Flanagan, one of Netflix’s leading figures behind the series The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor and Sermons de Nuit, returns with a new horror drama. With The Midnight Club, the director steps out of his comfort zone by abandoning his favorite actors.

In an establishment specializing in the reception of young adults in the terminal phase, eight patients meet every evening at midnight to tell scary stories. They make a pact: the first of them to die will have to send the group a sign from beyond. The Midnight Club is based on the novel of the same name, published in 1994, as well as other works by Christopher Pike.

Exception (October 13)

Exception is a new sci-fi horror anime series starring Yoshitaka Amano, a Japanese artist who brought characters from early Final Fantasy and cult episodes like FF7 to life. We also find the writer Hirotaka Adachi, alias Otsuichi, the composer Ryuichi Sakamoto (Snake Eyes, Appleseed…) and Yuzo Sato (Naruto, the film: Special mission in the land of the Moon, Pokémon, the film: Mewtwo counter- offensive…).

In the distant future, humanity has no choice but to leave Earth and migrate to another galaxy. A ship is sent to a planet to terraform it. The members of his crew are created one by one thanks to a biological 3D printer. Unfortunately, a fatal error occurs during the process of creating Lewis, a member of the crew. As Lewis turns on his companions Nina, Mack, Patty and Oscar, the final mission countdown ticks into the chilling darkness of the ship.

Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities (October 25)

Guillermo Del Toro, the cult Mexican director of the films Pan’s Labyrinth, Pacific Rim or recently Nightmare Alley – who even had a role in Death Stranding by Hideo Kojima -, will offer The Cabinet of Curiosities on Netflix.

An anthology of sinister stories, including two specially created by Del Toro, with different directors each time such as Jennifer Kent (The Nightingale), Vincenzo Natali (Cube) or Catherine Hardwicke (Thirteen). The episode The Viewing will even have actor Peter Weller: RoboCop himself. The first trailer is very promising to say the least.
