The nuggets threat (Netflix): the sequel to Chicken Run parodies Mission Impossible in a first teaser

Ready to make your return to the barnyard? The sequel to the cult film chicken runtitled the nugget threat, has (finally) revealed its first trailer. Enough to make us wait until its release on December 15 on the Netflix streaming platform.

This next film, still produced by the historical studio Aardmann Animations (Wallace and Gromit, Shaun the Sheep), will notably follow the adventures of young Molly, the daughter of Ginger and Rocky.

Here is the official synopsis of the film: “After successfully fleeing Tweedy’s farm at her own risk and peril, Ginger has finally realized her dream: she now lives on a peaceful island with her loved ones, far from the dangers of the human world. When she and Rocky give birth to a little Molly, Ginger is overwhelmed with happiness. But on the continent, the chickens have to face a new threat. For Ginger and his team, there is not a second to lose: everything must be done to save their congeners, even if they risk losing their feathers… and their hard-won freedom”.

In addition to the returns of Rocky, Ginger, Bernadette, Poulard and the big bad Mrs. Tweedy, the film therefore welcomes new faces. In addition to Molly, we will notably see the arrival of Frizzle, a funny, slightly crazy chicken.

When it was released in 2000, the first film chicken run had achieved great public and critical success, notably collecting $ 230 million at the global box office. In France, it had attracted 3,152,330 spectators indoors.

The Nugget Threat signs the second collaboration between Netflix and the Aardmann animation studio, after the very successful medium-length film Ruby, fallen from the nest released in 2021. Note that a new Wallace and Gromit adventure is expected for 2024 on the streaming platform.
