An amendment, retained by the government, will expand access to the fuel allowance in 2024, this 100-euro boost intended for French people who take their car to go to work. You may be one of the 1.6 million people affected.

This is one of the new features which has enriched, through amendments, the Finance bill for 2024, submitted by the government at 49.3. Access to the fuel allowance, this bonus of 100 euros intended for workers who use their personal vehicles to travel from home to work, will be accessible next year 1.6 million additional beneficiaries.

On September 24, the Head of State, Emmanuel Macron, announced the renewal in 2024 of this premium inaugurates in 2023 to help households, forced to take their car or motorized two-wheeler (even electric) to go to work, cope with the sharp rise in energy prices. This year, they are 4.3 million people who touched it, out of 10 million potentially eligible. Next year, this figure should raise 6million in total. The cost to the state budget is estimated at 600 million euros, including 160 million from this extension.

Extension to the 6th decile

The amendment adopted by the government, against the advice of the Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire, broadens its access to the 6th decile, that is to say to 60% of the most modest French peopleagainst 50% in 2023. A change intended to better cover the middle classes, justified the deputies of the independent group Liot and Horizons who carried the text.

The reference tax income ceiling (RFR) to enter the system should be between 17,000 and 18,000 euros for a single person. Within the same tax household, both spouses will be able, as in 2023, to each benefit from assistance, if they both use a personal vehicle to go to work.
