the number of hospitalized and intensive care patients decreases again

The number of Covid-19 patients hospitalized in intensive care continued its slow decline that began a few days ago, Thursday April 29, to around 5,800 people, according to figures from Public Health France.

Critical care services (which bring together resuscitation, intensive care and continuous monitoring) had 5,804 patients on Thursday, including 392 admitted in the last twenty-four hours, thus returning to their level of April 11. The number of Covid-19 patients in hospital also continued to decline, to 29,487 against 29,911 the day before, with 1,711 new hospitalizations in the last twenty-four hours.

The human toll continues to worsen: 321 Covid-19 patients have died in hospital in the past twenty-four hours, against 324 the previous day.

But vaccination is still progressing: Thursday evening, 15.2 million people had received at least one injection, and 6.2 million of them had received two injections and were completely immune.
