Hostess Laura takes “the perfect dinner” literally: Her boyfriend has to go through a lot to make the perfect dessert.

“The perfect dinner” is more than just a title for hostess and architect Laura, 29: it seems to be more of a challenge that she is only too happy to take on. The title of her 3-course menu, which she will serve to her guests on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, is more than ironic: “Dolce far niente – sweet idleness”. Because in order to make her dinner really perfect, a lot has to be done beforehand – especially by her boyfriend.

“The perfect dinner”: Laura’s friend is bursting at the seams

As the menu title suggests, Laura is preparing an Italian evening for the other participants – and of course tiramisu should not be missing for dessert. That seems to have been less of a problem in the preparation than the dessert side dish: a chocolate soufflé. Laura’s friend Pascal, 29, shouldn’t be able to see that for a long time, because it took a few attempts before the two were really satisfied with the taste.

“I tried out a bit with the recipes and didn’t really have the perfect recipe,” explains the architect. “And then my friend actually had to eat ten different chocolate soufflés until at some point we said: ‘This is our chocolate soufflé, that’s it!'” The irony comes up again here, after all it was Pascal who made them in the first place to take part in “The Perfect Dinner”. Which he more than regretted after ten different soufflés, as he himself admits: “I felt like I was bursting at the seams.” Still, the suffering was worth it.

“The sweet idleness” helps Laura to victory

The dishes are always extremely well received by the guests: the starter, aubergine parmigiana with breaded shrimp and cuttlefish, is enthusiastic. “The tower with the seafood was a really great combination,” enthuses Sam, 34. And the main course, homemade tortelloni filled with ricotta and spinach with Parmesan foam and tomato sauce, also received a lot of praise. “I have the greatest respect for making pasta myself,” says Christopher, 38. “The pasta was almost perfect.”

And the chocolate soufflé for which Pascal risked his summer figure? Christopher sums it up like this: “She really made everything in this dish herself. She did it with so much love, so much passion, so much passion. My utmost respect.” With 37 out of a possible 40 points, Laura really deserved the victory of the current “The Perfect Dinner” week – and her friend Pascal, of course, a little too.
