Aired this Sunday, January 2, 2022 on Arte, the film The Pink Panther by Blake Edwards stars Peter Sellers, in the role of a burglar gentleman who plays in the international jet-set. For her part, Claudia Cardinale plays Princess Dala.

Real success in 1963, The pink Panther by Blake Edwards is broadcast this Sunday, January 2, 2022 on Arte. In the film that gave birth to the animated character of the same name, Claudia Cardinale plays indian princess dala. The latter has a fabulous diamond nicknamed the pink Panther.

During the filming, the Italian actress has to shoot a scene in which her character is lying on a tiger skin and in a drunken state. A difficult scene to shoot for the then 25-year-old actress who is uncomfortable during long dialogues in English. Claudia Cardinale then confided in the shooting of the drunkenness scene: “We rehearsed for the first time. Then the director said to me: ‘Well, Claudia, now, while we prepare the lights, go and rest in the next room, where you will find a couch.‘”.

Claudia Cardinale: “Under the influence of hashish, I said my text all at once”.

Claudia Cardinale explained that she had gone to a room, accompanied by a member of the film crew and a small dog. She explained: “Edwards had ordered him to smoke hashish, which he was doing. Of course, I didn’t realize anything. At some point Blake introduced himself and saw the little dog lying on the floor: drugged“.

Finally, the young woman showed up to shoot her scene and to her surprise it did not have only need one take. She said: “Under the influence of hashish, I said my text all at once: perfectly“. The actress will only learn the truth thirty years later, in 1993 on the set of Son of the Pink Panther.
