The influencer mom Maëva Frossard, alias Mavachou, committed suicide on December 22, 2021, due to waves of cyber-harassment. She had spoken on the subject shortly before her death.

On December 7, 2021, Maeva, an influencer known as Mavachou, gives an interview to Sept à Huit as part of a report on family channels, and the cyberbullying she is the subject of. She reads the waves of hateful comments against her, which call her a bad mother, and denounces the indelible nature of these attacks on the internet. Her name will always be attached to it, she explains. “It’s disgusting, I have no other words”. “I came to want to stop living”, reveals the young woman during the show, specifying even having “made attempts”. “Finally, we give up, she says. If I’m a freak then I’m going “. She deplored the lack of responsiveness and timeliness of justice on this subject: “We file complaints, we ask for help and nobody cares”, she lamented. Maëva commits suicide 15 days later, at home, just before Christmas. On social media, derogatory comments continue, suggesting that she should have stopped social media, if she couldn’t stand the criticism. The indecency of these comments shows how cyberstalking is a nagging evil, which continues until after death.

Harassment from all sides

The YouTuber had filed a complaint against her ex-husband for moral harassment on the day of his death. She felt, in fact, that he had a responsibility for the torrents of insults she received every day. This same ex-husband, saddened by the death of the mother of his four children, also claimed to be the victim of cyberstalking himself: “You judge, you accuse and much worse still under cover of anonymity, under sacrosanct freedom of expression. Slanders, defamation, insults, death threats… Everything goes without any conscience”, he comments. He adds that it also affects his knowledge: “Contacting our relatives, our families, our friends … You are no longer close. For two years, we have been victims of daily and massive harassment that I have denounced on several occasions”, said Adrien Czajczynski.
