The police were already looking – the accident victim went 22 km to her girlfriend

The reason for this nightly half marathon remains a mystery! Police officers were looking for an accident victim in the Mühlviertel, but this was long gone – in the truest sense of the word. It was only in the morning that everything became clear.

A 47-year-old from Linz was driving alone in his car on Thursday night around 10 p.m. on the Gusental Landesstraße from Gallneukirchen in the direction of Reichenau. In the municipality of Alberndorf, he left the roadway in a right-hand bend for an unknown reason, rolled over and fell over the embankment, where the car came to a standstill on the roof. A marker post and two trees were also damaged. The driver was able to free himself from the wreckage, but failed to report the accident to the police. According to his own statements, the 47-year-old finally walked about 22 kilometers to his girlfriend in Oberneukirchen. He then went independently to the UKH Linz for outpatient treatment. The car was obviously a total loss. In the morning hours, the girlfriend reported the traffic accident.
