In an interview for the INA political program “DNA”, Marine Le Pen returned to her youth, her political career and her often complicated relationship with her father, Jean-Marie Le Pen.

Although the president of the National Rally wishes to detach herself as much as possible from her father, Jean-Marie Le Pen, in particular since 2011 and the exclusion of the politician from the far-right party, her political career remains associated with that of his mentor. Usually very discreet about her private life and her family life, Marine Le Pen spoke about her strained relationship with his father on the political show DNA of the INA, airing this Saturday, March 19. While the candidate for the presidential election for the third time after 2012 and 2017 is in the middle of the political campaign, she focused more particularly on the complicated character of Jean-Marie Le Pen.

“He is capable of being very violent when he is contradicted and when he is hurt”, confides the 53-year-old politician, facing the camera. Marine Le Pen refers in particular to shocking remarks that his father made about him when he was expelled from the political party. “I am ashamed that the president of the National Front bears my name”says Jean-Marie Le Pen, in excerpts broadcast during the show, before adding that he would even like his daughter lose this name as soon as possible. “I do not want the president of the National Front to be called Le Pen”concludes the 93-year-old man.
