It is true that the price of an electric bike can be a barrier to purchase. The Pure Electric brand has understood this and is thus offering its Flux One. It is a simple and efficient entry-level electric bike, which does not lack advantages. At the moment, the manufacturer does not offer a price reduction, but offers 3 accessories worth 120 euros.

Already at a very good price compared to the competition, the Flux One is 1,199 euros with 3 free accessories, worth 120 euros: a lock, a lighting kit and a mudguard. This offer is valid until April 2022.

To better understand the offer

  • What is the strength of this electric bike based on?

To stand out from other manufacturers, Pure Electric relies on simplicity and efficiency with its first electric bike. The Flux One is a model going to the essentials, so as not to inflate the price. We find a very light aluminum frame (17.5 kilos), a straight handlebar, a padded saddle, and two 28-inch wheels – a simple look that remains appreciable.

However, some concessions had to be made to display it at this floor price. Driving will be done with vibrations, because the bike has no suspensions. It will be necessary to opt for a dynamic driving and to alternate very frequently the positions on the bike, otherwise you will very quickly have back pain. But once the rhythm is set, the position remains comfortable on this typed “all-road” bike.

  • What is it worth in terms of electrification?

Pure Electric continues to offer the essentials with a motor with a power of 250W. Located on the rear hub, it begins to drive the wheel from the first pedal stroke with the help of the belt. The set is well calibrated and thanks to its light weight, the start is done quickly to reach 25 km/h. Ideal for urban journeys, it will have its limits uphill. It will be necessary to be a dancer with its small engine. You can of course count on an on-board computer. On the latter, it will be possible to select up to 3 levels of assistance (15 km/h, 20 km/h, 25 km/h), to consult the charge level and the kilometers travelled. No smartphone connection, no profile, no calorie counter: it’s a simple means of transport.

  • And is it durable enough for your journeys?

In terms of autonomy, with a small 252W battery, the electric bike is less enduring than some of its competitors. If the manufacturer announces 40 km of autonomy, it is only possible with mode 1 of assistance. Instead, count between 20 and 30 km to go from 100% to 0%, using modes 2 and 3 of assistance. The English manufacturer has even designed a small and easy to remove battery. The system designed by Pure is extremely simple, with the turn of a key the battery is dislodged. Once the battery is discharged, you can continue to ride your bike, which, as we recall, weighs only 17.5 kg.
