PARIS (Reuters) – The day after the Iranian attack on Israel, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommended on Sunday that French people residing in Iran “temporarily leave” the country.

“Due to the new level reached overnight by Iran and the risk of military escalation, the French embassy recommends to French residents in Iran who have the possibility, depending on the resumption of international air traffic, to temporarily leave the country”, we can read in a press release from the Quai d’Orsay.

“You are asked to exercise the greatest caution when traveling, to avoid any gatherings in the country and to keep yourself informed of the situation,” it added.

Paris also recommends that French nationals “absolutely refrain from traveling to Iran, Lebanon, Israel and the Palestinian Territories”.
