Bellisario to whom we owe a string of successes such as Magnum, supercopter, JAG or NCIS. At 86, he will produce the pilot for a new season that the NBC channel has just ordered.

In the original series, actor Scott Bakula played Dr. Sam Beckett, a researcher who wanted to test a time machine and found himself tossed from one era to another, in the second half of the 20th century. century. A victim of partial amnesia, he found help in the eccentric Rear Admiral Al Calavicci, a hologram played by Dean Stockwell.

Broadcast in France from 1993 on Série Club, then M6, Quantum Code had 5 seasons of 91 episodes. At the end of the very last one, a panel explained that Beckett was not “never returned home” and that he continued his missions over time. An open end, ideal for orchestrating a comeback. This is obviously the case with regard to the pitch unveiled by NBC:

If the chain does not give any precision on the casting, for the moment, a source advances with the HollywoodReporter that Scott Bakula, now 67, will indeed take over the role that made him famous. Last September, the actor revealed that “meaningful discussions” were in the works to bring back the series, a project long weighed down by obscure rights problems.

Unfortunately for the fans, Dean Stockwell will not be part of the adventure. Cult actor of Paris, Texas by Wim Wenders and blue-velvet of David Lynch, he died last November at the age of 85. “He was a dear friend and a mentor”, reacted Scott Bakula on Instagram. “We had become very close over five very intense years. I loved him deeply and was honored to know him”.
