If Jonathann Daval confessed to the murder of his wife Alexia, the parents of the young woman are still wondering. Hondelatte Raconte returns to their question.

Chilling feminicides make the headlines. The mother of the young Vanesa says for her part that she wants justice to be done. We also learn that Axelle Dorier had been shot hundreds of meters. And years later, the parents of Alexia Daval are still wondering about the death of their daughtermurdered on the night of October 27 to 28, 2017 by her husband Jonathann.

In the podcast Hondelatte Tells. we indeed follow the point of view of Isabelle and Jean-Pierre Fouillot on the drama. In Alexia our daughter, Episode 2, we find the parents 3 months after Alexia’s murder, when Jonathann is in police custody. Isabella takes a long look at the confrontation organized at the judge between the family of the victim and the suspect. If their son-in-law and their daughter could not make him crack, Isabelle’s entrance changed everything.

After their exchange, Jonathann will end up confessing his crime. “Tell us the truth, we will forgive you and you will be able to take your life in hand, you will be able to rebuild yourself”. She says she makes believe in forgiveness just to make him feel comfortable. “How can you live with that?”, she would also have added, showing him a photo of Alexia with their cat, giving him news of the animal… And it will work: Jonathann admits to having killed her. Isabelle and he will even cry in each other’s arms.

Alexia’s parents wonder about Jonathann

During the reenactment, Jonathann will reenact the moment of the crime, the beatings and the strangulation for the police. He does not admit having burned the body, before Isabelle’s intervention once again. She evokes the suspicions that will then weigh on her family, who will be accused of complicity, and Jonathann breaks down once again, confessing his actions.

But for Alexia’s parents, Jonathann has not said everything. He keeps his secrets, “especially on the reasons that led him to become a murderer”. “Why did he want to get rid of his wife he had just married?”, “Why didn’t he just leave her?”, they wonder.

Isabelle and Jean-Pierre are convinced that it’s not just the story of a couple that explodes. For them, “it is the madness of a child who has never been loved”.

If they dread the trial today, it is for fear that Jonathann will speak ill of Alexia. She didn’t deserve to be killed, and “doesn’t deserve to be insulted”. The parents confide: “We miss her”.
