The Rings of Power on Prime Video: Galadriel takes up arms in the trailer for The Lord of the Rings series

The Amazon Prime Video platform has unveiled a trailer for its “Rings of Power” series, adapted from the Lord of the Rings universe, to follow from September 2!

Only ten days left before finally discovering the Lord of the Rings series on Amazon Prime Video! To better reward the public’s expectation, the platform today unveiled a trailer for its new original production, entitled The Rings of Power!

Set at the end of the Second Age of Middle-earth, a few millennia before the adventures of Bilbo and Frodo Baggins, the series follows the adventures of several emblematic characters from the universe imagined by JRR Tolkien, starting with Galadriel.

Played by Morfydd Clark, the elven queen appears in the series in a more warlike version, driven by the spirit of revenge following the death of her brother Finrod, than her interpretation by Cate Blanchett in the trilogies The Lord of the Rings and The Bilbo the Hobbit signed Peter Jackson. Also appeared in the films, the half-elf Elrond is played here by Robert Aramayo (young Ned Stark in Game of Thrones).

Broadly, the series traces the origins of the Rings of Power forged by Celebrimbor, but also the rise of the evil wizard Sauron, and his One Ring created in order to bend other Ring-wielders to his will. Even before its broadcast, The Rings of Power broke a record, that of the most expensive series ever produced (a budget of approximately 500 million dollars for its first season is mentioned!).

The first two episodes of The Lord of the Rings series will be broadcast on September 2, then one episode every Friday exclusively on the Amazon Prime Video platform.
