PThere is no excess or grandiloquent celebration on the menu for the celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the Rassemblement national. The party, co-founded by Jean-Marie Le Pen on October 5, 1972, will be the subject of a symposium called “from hope to power” in the Victor Hugo room of the National Assembly. According to Le Parisien, this event organized on October 6 will see a succession of different speeches for around three hours and will be fully broadcast on social networks live. The opportunity to mark the occasion without making too much talk.

Among the three speakers, not Jean-Marie Le Pen, whose evocation embarrasses the executives of the party, between heritage and opposition. “Are we going to have our own trial? No, we are not masochists, others will do it for us. Le Pen’s excesses have already been condemned. Even on Europe, we have changed our position”, considers for example the European deputy Philippe Olivier in Le Parisien.

Jean-Marie Le Pen is not “wounded”

No divisive subject should be addressed, “the objective of the colloquium is to show in dynamics what the national movement has brought” continues the one who will speak at the first conference. He will be accompanied by Gilles Pennelle, in the running to become secretary general of the party and by a historical figure of the FN, Bruno Gollnisch, who will try to demonstrate that “the FN / RN has always been a republican party”. Marine Le Pen will speak at the end of the three conferences. On October 22, Jean-Marie Le Pen will organize a cocktail party with around fifty guests in Montretout. “He will see people who have really participated in the long march”, explains his entourage to the Parisian. “Without being hurt, Jean-Marie Le Pen sees a contradiction in organizing such a symposium without him,” it is said.

If the RN intends to be discreet about its sulphurous past, the majority party intends to take care of not passing it over in silence. The presidential Renaissance party will launch a digital campaign on Saturday on the 50 years of “hate” of the National Rally, judging its history “shared” with that of the National Front. This campaign, which should last a month, will broadcast several slogans and archive images with the hashtag “#50ansdeHaine”.
