The popular series "Die Rosenheim-Cops" has been on television since 2002 and delights millions of viewers every Tuesday with new stories about Rosenheim. For all those who can't get enough of the crime series, there is now good news: A feature-length special is planned.

"The Rosenheim Cops": Michaela May takes on role in XXL edition

Filming for the 90-minute film even started at the beginning of the month and is expected to last until the end of March. The XXL edition bears the title "Murderous Society" and the investigators are Dieter Fischer as Anton Stadler and Igor Jeftić as Sven Hansen. In addition, the fans can look forward to a famous guest star: Actress Michaela May, 68, will take on a role as Margarethe Herrling in the special episode. It is not yet known when the special will run.

It is now the fifth episode of "The Rosenheim Cops" that is planned to be a feature length. The last 90 minutes of the previous evening series ran in February 2020 and, according to "quotenmeter.de", attracted 6.14 million viewers. "We are very pleased that after the great success of the last two winter specials, ZDF has again commissioned us to produce a feature-length film," explained producer Alexander Ollig to the online portal.

More good news for all fans

The ZDF format also celebrates success with the regular episodes. As "dwdl.de" reported, an episode reached a whopping 6.03 million viewers in January 2021, making it the most watched episode for at least ten years. No wonder that the 21st season has already been confirmed with this popularity. After the XXL edition there are 26 brand new episodes of "Die Rosenheim-Cops".
